Battery Housing for Phantom canister lights |
For the 2010 dive season OMS® offers the following lights:
- 10W (1) LED Phantom™ dive light
- 12W (3) LED Phantom™ dive light
- 24W (7) LED Phantom™ dive light
All Phantom™ dive lights utilize Mil Spec Hard Coat (2X harder than anodizing); incorporate captured O-Ring
assemblies in the lens area and Titanium screws to hold down the bezel. The LED light heads can be held in your
hand or you can affix the optional Goodman Handle (Fig. 1) or mount to a helmet.
Phantom™ lights use PCB’s that are field replaceable, incorporate high reliability magnetic reed switches and 50
degree C thermal cutoff switches to prevent fires. The actuation switch incorporates a high strength Nylon lockdown
screw to prevent accidental “turn On/Off”.
Captured O-Rings are utilized at the cord interface to the head and canister sealing areas resulting in a less than .5%
failure rate! Additionally all lights, before leaving the factory, are wet pot tested to 100 meters.

OMS® a leader in innovative lighting technology, has engineered a novel Patent Pending high intensity LED Light engine that is shock resistant, and designed to be a “drop in” replacement for a standard 10 to 12 w HID bulb/ballast.
It is over 30% brighter than a 10 W HID bulb, has 3x the burn time (with an equivalent battery) and an average lifetime of over 10,000 hours (HID has only 1000 ave. hours life). Installation is pretty simple: In most lights just cut the (2) lead wires, reattach wires to the OMS light engine, insert light engine into the light housing, tighten the self alignment mechanism and you are ready to go!
